As I sat in the doctor’s office answering all the questions they tend to ask, I said, “I just don’t think I will ever not be depressed.”
My doctor looked at me through his sympathetic eyes and said, “don’t lose hope,” and tears instantly started streaming down my face.
I had, in fact, lost all hope of ever being the joy-filled Julie I used to be.
The longer I sat there describing the soul-deep exhaustion that a good night’s sleep can’t even fix, the more I cried for answers as to why I felt so physically and mentally spent.
Every time I take a step toward the calling God has placed on my life, it feels like the enemy pushes back – applying so much resistance that it becomes almost too heavy to keep going.
Sitting in my car after that appointment, weeping for the relenting peace only Jesus can give, the Spirit reminded me: The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives within me, too.
Romans 8:11 reassures us that “the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you.”
“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” – Romans 8:11 NLT

Sweet friend, no matter how weary or defeated you feel, God is bringing resurrection power into your life.
God is always at work in our lives – even in the waiting, even in the chaos, even when all hope feels lost.
If you’re in a weary season, let these 5 truths remind you that you are a beautiful, wonderful child of God, redeemed and set free because of Jesus Christ’s obedience on the cross.
- Resurrection power isn’t just for someday – it’s for this day.
Even when your body is tired and your spirit is heavy, the Spirit of God is alive in you, giving you strength for this moment. - You are not alone in your weariness.
Jesus knows what it feels like to suffer, to wait, and to weep – and He meets you in the middle of your pain with compassion, not condemnation. - Just because you can’t see the breakthrough doesn’t mean it isn’t coming.
God is moving behind the scenes in ways you can’t yet see. Saturday might feel silent, but Sunday is already written into your story. - Your weariness doesn’t disqualify you – it qualifies you for God’s strength.
When you come to the end of yourself, that’s where His grace begins to carry you. - You have resurrection power inside of you.
The same Spirit that rolled away the stone is working in you, restoring what’s been broken, reviving what feels dead, and renewing your hope.
Mama, in your “Good Friday” season, while you’re waiting for victory over your weariness, remember Easter is a message of hope and renewal. Sunday is coming.
When your hope is fading and your heart is breaking, let this truth anchor you: God is always at work, even in the waiting.
So if you find yourself stuck in a “Saturday” season – caught between the pain of what is and the hope of what’s to come – hold tight to the truth that Easter proclaims: the story isn’t over. The tomb is empty. Hope is alive. And because Jesus rose, you can rise too. Take heart, sweet friend, God is not done with your story.
His resurrection power is still at work in you, even now – reviving your spirit, renewing your strength, and reminding you that Sunday is coming.
