Hey sweet friend!
I had a different blog post planned for 1/4… and I didn’t write it.
I’ve been sick, worn down, and honestly, I’ve felt that familiar mix of guilt and overwhelm that creeps in when life doesn’t go according to plan.
If that’s you right now—behind on goals, behind on routines, behind on everything—I want you to hear this:
You are not failing.
You are human.
And God is not surprised by your season.
A different kind of reset
When we fall behind, our instinct is usually to push harder.
We try to catch up. We over-correct. We make a strict plan to “get back on track.”
But when you’re already depleted, trying harder often makes you feel worse, because it turns your life into a performance review.
What we need in seasons like this isn’t more pressure. It’s wisdom.
Scripture says:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault…” — James 1:5 (NIV)

I love that line: without finding fault.
God doesn’t shame you for needing help.
He doesn’t scold you for being tired.
He invites you to ask.
3 gentle questions for the mom who feels behind
If you’re not sure where to begin, here are three questions you can pray through today:
1) What is the smallest next faithful step?
Not the whole plan. Not the perfect routine. Just the next right step.
2) What am I carrying that isn’t mine to carry right now?
A standard? A timeline? Someone else’s expectations?
3) What would grace look like in this season?
Grace might look like rest. Or a simplified plan. Or asking for help.

A simple prayer (for today)
Lord, I need Your wisdom.
Show me what matters most right now.
Help me release what’s too heavy.
Lead me in the next right step with peace, not pressure.
Amen.
You’re not behind. You’re being guided.
If you’ve been feeling the pull toward a slower, gentler kind of growth… you’re not alone.
I’m in a season of learning to listen before I leap—one small faithful step at a time.
And if you’d like, comment below and tell me:
What’s one area you need God’s wisdom for right now?
I’d love to pray for you.
Much love & many hugs,
Julie
